Online marketing constantly changes and evolves, thereby demanding of businesses in places like Illinois to adapt and get their campaigns to be just as flexible. Web design is one such aspect whose trends could differ significantly from one year to the next, especially as computers and web surfing media themselves develop and evolve. Here are some of 2014’s hottest trends that every web design agency in Lombard, IL should adopt:   Mobile-First Websites                                                                      Last year alone, all eyes were focused on converting desktop websites for mobile use, so users can enjoy the most convenient of browsing experiences. Today however, smartphones and tablets have increased so much that 55% of Internet use in the U.S. are from mobile users, leaving desktop users at a minority. This is why many agencies are now doing mobile-first sites instead, and then only adapting them later for desktop use. Multi-Media Pages While it’s not exactly a novel idea, incorporating media like photos, videos and gifs into most, if not all, site pages are becoming much more popular these days. This allows many web designers to incorporate ingenious amounts of creativity into each site. The increase of focus on visual media in many social media platforms, and various publication and content sites, might be one of the main reasons for this. User-Friendly SEO Entrepreneur Ilya Pozin writes in Forbes.com about the rapid decline of keyword-only SEO content generation:
“For years, SEO copywriting has been a large part of web design and promotion. But Google’s changing search algorithms have made it increasingly hard to keep up with the new SEO guidelines. Keyword stuffing and focusing copy from a keyword perspective is the wrong approach to modern SEO, and will only get you penalized under the new guidelines. It’s time to say goodbye to SEO copywriting and start developing keyword informed and user-centric content instead.”
Flat UI As mobile giants Apple and Samsung move their battle towards high-resolution displays, the call for more simplistic gradients and styles is given more focus nowadays. Also called the flat user interface system, the use of simple colors and minimalistic design free of overplayed and unnecessarily dramatic elements and decoration allows visitors to keep their eyes on the products and services the site offers. When looking for a reputable Lombard web design agency like Gray’s Digital Consulting, LLC, make your choice based on how up-to-date their strategies and services are. There’s no reason to lag behind your competitors in such a fast-paced environment – instead you should adapt and grow as quickly as the industry is moving.   (Source: Let It Go: Say Farewell To These 5 Web Design Trends, Forbes, May 15,2014)

I also believe that by focusing just on search engine traffic you’re doing more harm then good because Google keeps changing things so often I keep hearing about people’s horror stories of losing all their traffic because they were so focused on search engine traffic only.
